This project, called the Joyful Journey, is an exploration of resilience and transformation, an invitation to embark on new journeys with courage and without fear. This collection celebrates starting afresh, inspiring viewers to break free from everyday routines and rediscover their freedom and independence. Through visual storytelling, the series encourages a bold embrace of change and the power to choose one’s path.

At the heart of this collection is Rachel’s personal quest for freedom and independence, a journey of embracing significant changes in her life. Each piece shows how her views have changed, telling a personal but common story about bravery, starting over, and finding happiness when things change. Through her lens, Rachel invites the viewer to walk alongside her.

Each artwork in this series features a different European city—Paris, Florence, Strasbourg, Venice, Amsterdam, London, Prague, Berlin- highlighting the unique opportunity each destination represents. These cities, rich in history and culture, create a narrative of exploration and personal transformation, illustrating how freedom and new beginnings can be found in a place of belonging.

This series invites the viewer to reconnect with their true selves, rediscover the joy of escapism, begin again, and overcome fear and uncertainty. It offers a vision of not accepting quid pro quo, of escaping, of a step towards freedom, of stepping into life’s possibilities with an open heart and a sense of purpose.

By drawing on inner strength and courage, the images empower the viewer to reclaim ownership of their lives and celebrate the transformations that shape them.

As the project develops, new artworks will feature additional cities, expanding the collection’s scope and emphasising reinvention. Whether it’s Paris, Florence, or London, each city becomes a reminder of a celebration. A celebration of transformation, self-determination, and personal growth.
