For some, the thought of capturing portraiture can be intimidating. When I got started with photography, I wasn’t quite ready to take on the challenge, choosing instead to focus on landscapes and travel photography. But after some time, I eventually realised that to capture a person in a powerful way, you need to let yourself into the picture as well. Now, portraiture has become my favourite subject to photograph. I’m always in awe of how much emotion and story can be captured when the subject lowers their guard and completely connects with the camera. It’s an incredible experience.
